Lana and Kai are a loving pair of mini donkeys who bring comfort and lots of personality to our ohana. Lana is kind, affectionate, and happiest when she is receiving gentle attention. Her Hawaiian name is Lanakila (lah-nah-KEE-lah) which means “victory” reflecting her steady and nurturing spirit. Kai is thoughtful and curious, with a playful side – especially if peppermint treats are nearby. His Hawaiian name is Ikaika (ee-KAI-kuh), which means “strength.” We lovingly call him “Kai cow” because of his sweet cow-like markings. They joined our ohana in 2024 and are true lovebugs. Often, they’ll stand on either side of a visitor, offering what we call “double donkey hugs.” Their steady companionship helps create a safe, peaceful space for reflection and connection.
