Ohana Preservation Foundation offers thoughtfully planned mental wellness programs for youth navigating difficult life circumstances and mental health challenges; families with children admitted to hospice, battling cancer or significant illness; families grieving the loss of a loved one; and caregivers struggling with compassion fatigue.
CHILDREN NAVIGATING DIFFICULT LIFE CIRCUMSTANCES AND MENTAL CHALLENGES
- Ohana Allies - Participants interact with horses, engage in adventurous activities and connect with nature and peers.
- Specialized Scheduled Programs:
Programs for the Prince William County Juvenile Shelter, Ryan Bartel Foundation and the National Center for Mission and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
FAMILIES EXPERIENCING GRIEF
- Ohana Family Allies Program - Grief support for families.
- Annual Healing with Horses Event - An annual event that includes horses, holiday activities, Santa visit, covered wagon rides, live music and more.
- School Ohana Allies - Grief support groups in schools.
PROFESSIONAL CAREGIVERS
- Workshops for Caregivers - Customized programming for compassion fatigue, burnout and grief.
- Self-Care Kits - Customized for those in the helping profession.

SCHOOL GROUPS
- Field trips are customized to support specific educational themes and goals based on the developmental stages of the students.
*Many of our programs are in partnership and receive referrals from various organizations, such as Homestead Art Therapy and Counseling, Courage Closet, Capital Caring Kids - Pediatric Hospice, Blue Ridge Hospice, ACTNow for Mental Health, Noah’s Children Pediatric Hospice, Hope for Grieving Families and our regional public schools.
